Autobiography

Prof. Yoshiaki Shirai received the B.Eng. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Nagoya Univiersity in 1964, and the M.Eng. and the Dr.Eng. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tokyo, in 1966 and 1969 respectively.

1988 - Professor, Dept. of Computer-Controlled Mechanical Systems, Graduate School of Engineering,
Osaka University, Japan.
2005 - Professor, Department of Human and Computer Intelligence, School of Information Science and Engineering, Ritsumeikan University , Japan.

He is an active member of Institute of Electric and Electronics Engineers, Robotics Society of Japan, Japanese Society of Artificial Intelligence, Information Processing Society of Japan, Institute of Electronics, Information, and Communication Engineers. Robotics and Automation Society, and American Association of Artificial Intelligence.
